Drogg Ironskull: The Formidable Chieftain of the Black Orcs

In the shadowed west of the Massif Orcal, where the echoes of war weave tales untold, emerges a saga forged in the crucible of conflict. Behold the chronicle’s genesis, anchored by the indomitable presence of Drogg Ironskull, a Black Orc Boss of legendary prowess, whose destiny intertwines with the ebb and flow of the „Uniting the Orc Massiv“ campaign.

The Black Orc Boss: Drogg Ironskull’s Might

In crafting my second army for the „Uniting the Orc Massiv“ campaign, behold the formidable duo at its core: the Black Orc Boss, Drogg Ironskull, and his marauding horde, poised as the antagonists orchestrating the central narrative throughout this grand campaign. On the contrasting end, the gallant Boss Dakkbad Tuskbreaker makes his entrance with his wild riders, not as direct participants in the army, but as heroes intricately woven into the storyline’s fabric.

Commencing with the commanding figure, the Black Orc Boss, a paragon with a formidable 3+ defense, wields an AP(3) Great Weapon, ensuring the dismantling of adversaries. Head Chop, a relentless ability, guarantees precision strikes against monsters and heroes. Opting for the Dual Hand Weapons, though a more strategic choice, pales in comparison to the sheer overkill of the Great Weapon, especially when enhanced by the Chieftain’s War Cry speed boosts, particularly potent during charges.

Now, the stalwart Black Orcs, elite tanks of the Orcs, enter the stage with their 4+ quality and 3+ defense. Armed with Great Weapons and Head Chop, they specialize in confronting monstrous foes. For those craving additional attacks and willing to sacrifice some AP, the option of Dual Hand Weapons beckons. I enlist ten with full command, an army configuration that bends the Force Organisation rules but aligns perfectly with the thematic essence.

As the army already boasts a formidable anvil, the need arises for swift units. Enter the boar bOIs, two units with Fast, Impact (1), and the Orcs’ inherent Furious attribute. The inclusion of Sergeant, banner, and musician enhances their battlefield prowess. These lads shall be the feral kin, unbound by the constraints of Army Force Organisation. Though denied the status of a hero by the rigid rules, Dakkbad Tuskbreakers saga unfolds within the narrative tapestry, weaving a tale that echoes beyond the structured ranks.

The Loyal Companion: Iron Shatter the Giant

The ensemble is crowned by a towering Giant, known affectionately as Iron Shatter, a loyal companion to Drogg Ironskull. Regrettably an ally, the Giant’s impressive Tough(12), 3+ defense, and assortment of weapon choices make him a force to be reckoned with. While points constraints prevent additional enhancements, he stands ready to deliver his best.

A brief mention of bases is in order, as the downsizing to 15mm necessitates recalculations. One Page Rules suggests a 100mm base for a 100mm tall giant in 32mm scale. Translating this to 15mm, we find ourselves with a 6cm tall giant on a 60mm base, ensuring a harmonious fit within the scaled-down battlefield.

As the Black Orc Boss, Drogg Ironskull, etches his saga upon the battlegrounds in the Massiv Orcal, the resonance of clashing steel and the roar of the Giant, Iron Shatter, become echoes of a tale that transcends the tapestry of war. With the Stalwart Black Orcs forming an unyielding bulwark and the swift Boar Riders charging into the fray, the symphony of battle crescendos.
